Stage 2: Disengage
Disengaging is the quickest and most efficient way to resolve conflict, and many of us do this all the time. Keep in mind, disconnecting means stepping away both physically and mentally.
Focus on calming yourself down, comfort and soothe yourself. Disengage mentally -- don't ruminate about the other person or this conflict. Focus on your sense of self, your strengths, and your values.
